Aus diesem Grunde organisieren wir im Laufe des Monats Mai einen so genannten\n” PINCH HITTER COURSE “\nder von der AOPA Air-Safety-Foundation ausgearbeitet wurde und nicht nur in Luxemburg\, sondern auch schon in vielen anderen Mitgliedstaaten der IAOPA erfolgreich abgehalten wurde.\nDiese Kurse finden nun zum 26 ten mal in Luxemburg statt und richten sich hauptsächlich an die Co-Piloten(innen)\, Ehefrauen\, Partner(rinnen)\, Freunde(innen)\, Mitflieger(rinnen) und sonstige Liebhaber der Sport- und Privatfliegerei\, die unsere Piloten auf deren Touren und Gruppenreisen begleiten\, oder auch jenen Menschen die sich ihrer “Flugangst” (auch in Linienflugzeugen) entledigen wollen.\nBei der Ausbildung dreht es sich hauptsächlich darum\, den Teilnehmern(rinnen) die elementarsten theoretischen und praktischen Grundbegriffe der Fliegerei beizubringen. Somit soll es ihnen ermöglicht werden\, in einem akuten Notfall\, also etwa bei einem plötzlichen Unwohlsein des Piloten\, das Steuer des Flugzeuges zu übernehmen und die Maschine zu einem nahe gelegenen Flugplatz zu bringen und dort eventuell auch eine Sicherheitslandung ohne allzu große Schäden durchzuführen.\nUnter der Leitung von erfahrenen Fluglehrern wird der theoretische Teil am 6. Mai  und 13. Mai\, sowie am 20. For this reason\, as every year\, we organise a so-called\n“PINCH HITTER COURSE”\nThe course was elaborated by the AOPA Air Safety Foundation and is not only successfully held in Luxembourg\, but also in many other Member States of the IAOPA.\nThis course takes place for the 26 th time in Luxembourg and is mainly aimed at flight companions\, spouses\, partners\, friends\, and other lovers of sports and private flying who accompany pilots on their tours. The course also is for persons who want to combat “fear of flying” (also in airliners).\nFlying is a shared activity. Most often\, pilots fly with non-pilots such as family\, friends or business associates. This common practice can pose a problem in the event of an emergency. Our Pinch Hitter course is designed to help NON-PILOTS save the day\, instead of panic. The objective of this course is to fully prepare students to confidently perform duties as an emergency replacement pilot by becoming proficient in air-work\, navigation\,communication\, takeoffs and landings.\nThe training for the participants is about teaching the theoretical and practical fundamentals of flying. This is to enable them\, in an acute emergency\, such as a sudden indisposition of the pilot\, to take over the control of the aircraft to bring it to a nearby airfield and make a safety landing.\nUnder the guidance of experienced instructors\, the theoretical part will take place during three evenings:\n6th  – 13th and 20th May 2019\, from 19:00h to 21:00h in the classrooms of Aéro-Sport\, Aéroport-Aviation Générale Nationale Porte 2\, route de Trèves\, Luxemburg-Findel.\n\nThe practical training flights\, by appointment with a designated flight instructor or experienced pilots of their own choice\, will take a total 5-6 hours\, favourable weather provided.\nThe price for the theoretical course is € 40.00 for members and family members and € 80.00 for all other persons interested. All classroom material is available in French\, German and English and is included the ticket price.
